Adobe Systems Announces Plans for
Expansion in Downtown San Jose

San José, CA -- 9/28/00: Adobe Systems President Bruce Chizen joined San Jose Mayor Ron Gonzales today to announce the expansion of Adobe’s worldwide headquarters in downtown San Jose with a third tower to be built at Adobe’s high-rise campus.

"As a great Silicon Valley company, Adobe continues to shape downtown San Jose as great location for business, for residents, and for visitors," said Mayor Ron Gonzales. "I look forward to Adobe's future success in our city, and I am delighted that our downtown and the company will keep growing together."

Adobe will build the project without public subsidy from the San Jose Redevelopment Agency. The planned 275,000-square-foot tower will take approximately 18 months to complete and will accommodate up to 900 employees. The new building will be 17 stories high to join two existing Adobe towers built four years ago.

The design includes seven levels of parking, access to the other Adobe towers via sky-bridges, a landscaped outdoor patio, and plans for an employee cafe and sport court.

Adobe is the world’s third largest PC software company in the United States. Currently 1,850 of the company’s 2,500 worldwide employees work in San Jose offices.
