It is listening to San Jose neighborhoods and responding to citywide priorities. By focusing resources from the City of San Jose, San Jose Redevelopment Agency, private investment, and public-private partnerships, the Strong Neighborhoods Initiative will improve neighborhood conditions, expand community services and strengthen neighborhoods. For more information visit www.strongneighborhoods.org Clean and Well managed Parks, Libraries and Community Centers Clean and well-managed parks, libraries, and community centers are essential to ensuring the quality of San Jose neighborhoods that our residents are proud to live in. It is a vital responsibility of the City to make sure our public facilities are the best they can be. A number of very good suggestions have come from Councilmembers related to improvements to our facilities. As is always the case, however, we do not have all the resources that would allow us to complete every project that may be desired by our community. See a list of funded projects... See a list of specific improvements... Anti-Graffiti Graffiti remains a serious issue for many of our neighborhoods. It is time to reduce the number of graffiti tags by half again, with the target of bringing the amount down to only 25 percent of what we faced at the start of last year. Youth, Seniors and Community Centers Quality programming for our youth and seniors at local community centers is important contributor to a high quality of life in our city.
