Mayor Gonzales spoke at a meeting of the California National Council
of La Raza (NCLR) Affiliate Network Community Child Care
Council of Santa Clara on November 15, 2002

NCLR is the largest Latino Civil Rights advocacy organization
in the United States.  California has the largest number of NCLR
affiliates and the group is focusing on workforce development issues.

The Mayor spoke saying, "I am delighted you have come to our
city to work on your plans to create better opportunities for Latinos
in our nation...San Jose is a City of solutions and we have
worked hard to stay focused on our priorities that have made
San Jose a great place to live work and play."
