Mayor Ron Gonzales spoke at the City Year Opening Day Celebration on 
Thursday, October 9, 2003.  The celebration showcased 50 incoming 
City Year corpsmembers who range in age from 17 to 24. They will serve 
in schools, community centers and neighborhoods. Together the 50 
corpsmembers are pledged to work a total of 17,000 
hours of service work in the coming year.
