Mayor Gonzales was joined by Councilmembers, reporters and much of the community on Friday evening, November 26, 2004, as the residents enjoyed the annual tree lighting and opening of San Jose's Downtown Ice.  The Mayor spoke to the crowd as the tree shone brightly: "We have opened the season earlier this year, the day after Thanksgiving. Now friends and families can begin the holidays right away with the festive sights of Christmas in the Park and all that downtown San Jose has to offer...thank you for joining us. I wish you a wonderful holiday season!"
