Mayor Gonzales announced confirmation of state and local funding needed to begin construction on the Coleman Avenue/Interstate 880 Interchange that will allow work to start on major terminal improvements at Mineta San Jose International Airport on Monday, March 15, 2004.

Mayor Gonzales said, "We can now move ahead to create an airport that we are proud of, an airport that will say, 'You have arrived at the Capital of Silicon Valley'".  San Jose City Council is scheduled to act tomorrow at its regular meeting on the certification that conditions set forth in ASTRA are satisfied.
