California Teachers
Association Urban Issues
Conference on Saturday,
February 25, 2006.
The conference was held in
San Jose - "The Most
Teacher Friendly City in
California", and
approximately 200+
teachers attended.

Mayor Gonzales said,
"...I promised the
people of San Jose that
our parents, teachers and
schools would find a
strong partner in City
Hall and that is exactly
what we have
become...through our many
programs, I am proud to
say that San Jose public
schools, taken together,
now have the best academic
achievement results
compared to any other big
city in California."
