Mayor Gonzales spoke at the Downtown College Prepartory
Journey of a Lifetime event on Thursday evening, May 16, 2003.
This was the first annual Journey of a Lifetime event that
allowed students and families to share in their accomplishments,
talents and promise of DCP students as they prepare
to be the first in their family to go to college.

Parents, family and friends listen to the Mayor speak.
Our Mayor said, "Downtown College Prep is an outstanding
example of the spirit of San Jose and Silicon Valley.  As the first
charter school in the county, DCP is about innovation and
a great vision...most of all it is about hope and opportunity.
It is for students who have a dream to go to college
and their parents who want them to succeed."
