Mayor Gonzales received a visit from young leaders
participating in the "Clinton Democracy Fellowship Program"
run by City Year.  The program selects 10 young leaders
to participate in a 12 week leadership training and citizen services
policies program.  The group is based in Boston and the Fellows
will be making visits to a select group of City Year sites
to learn more about City Year at the local level.

The Clinton Democracy Fellowship is one of City Year's
most exciting and innovative programs, capitalizing
on a partnership between former Heads of State Nelson Mandela
and Bill Clinton to bring South African young idealists to the
United States to learn about the value of national
service as a community building tool.

The Mayor spoke to the Fellows about public service
and community life in the Silicon Valley.
