Mayor Ron Gonzales was joined by Assemblymember
Manny Diaz and CTA Vice President-elect David Hernandez
at the California Teachers Association Rally on March 20, 2003.

Over 500 teachers turned out for this rally.  The Mayor spoke to the
crowd saying, "California is facing a huge budget deficit...
however, cutting teachers in our classrooms to balance the
budget doesn't make sense...teaching our children so they
can achieve success is essential to our success as a state."
