San
Jose's 10th Annual Cesar Chavez March took place on
Monday, March 31, 2003. The march commemorated
the life of Cesar Chavez, his commitment to peace,
social justice, civil rights and economic opportunity.

The

spoke at the rally saying, "I am proud to be here today honoring
the life and legacy of an American hero - Cesar Chavez."

Many
people came out for the walk and heard our Mayor
say, "Cesar Chavez dedicated his own life to improve
the quality of live for so many others...we must continue
to work together, as local government, local business,
local organizations and local residents to combine our
individual strengths and resources just as we are doing today."
