On June 5, Mayor Gonzales joined PACT (People Acting
in Community Together), as well as other elected
officials and clergy to speak out against state budget proposals that
would deplete San Jose's redevelopment funding for affordable
housing and neighborhood improvements. When Mayor Gonzales
spoke to the crowd he said, "We stand together today as a
community, so that we can live together tomorrow in a city that
provides homes that families can afford; opportunities for children
to learn and parents to have jobs and neighborhoods
that are strong, healthy and safe.
