Mayor Gonzales is joined by Vice Mayor Dando,
Councilmember Williams and representatives from
VTA and CalTrans at the 85/87 Ribbon Cutting
event on Monday, June 23, 2003. 

Mayor Gonzales spoke at the ribbon cutting,
"For years, tens of thousands of commuters on
Highways 85 and 87 could see this unfinished interchange on
their morning and evening commute and wondered if and
when it would ever be completed...a little less than two
years ago, many of us were here marking the groundbreaking
for this interchange, an important traffic improvement not
only for the Almaden Valley and Blossom Valley,
but also for San Jose and the region.  I want to thank
all the VTA staff for their hard work in bringing in yet
another Measure A/B project on time and on budget."
