Welcome
to the Vietnamese Spring Festival and Parade
held on Sunday, February 2, 2003 in downtown San Jose!!

Mayor
Gonzales participated in the event which is a
multi-cultural celebration highlighting the Vietnamese Lunar
New Year with food games and exhibits. Mayor Gonzales
presents a commendation to Son Nguyen the chairperson
for the Vietnamese Spring Festival and Parade.

The
Mayor spoke to the crowd saying, "I am proud to participate
in the Vietnamese Spring Festival and Parade, a celebration
that emphasizes family strength and community unity."

It was a wonderful day for a parade in San Jose

Thousands
of people visited downtown to watch and celebrate!
The Mayor said, "As it rings in the new Year as the Year of the Goat,
the Vietnamese Spring Festival provides families and their members
all over the world with the opportunity to reunite and celebrate
their blessings with food, music and prayer."
