Mayor Ron Gonzales presented a housewarming gift
to congratulate Oak Grove High School band teacher
Chris Moura, the 300th San Jose teacher to purchase his
first home through the San Jose Teacher Homebuyer
Program since the program began in 1999.

The Mayor gives the Moura family a tree for their new home.

The Mayor said, "I am delighted that we have been able to
work together to help you buy your first home in San Jose.
We launched this program nearly four years ago...we developed
a creative approach to help teachers find homes they can
afford, get their loans and help them with down payments.
