Mayor Gonzales and members of the San Jose Redevelopment
Agency took a tour of the Twohy Building located
at South First Street and Paseo de San Antonio in
downtown San Jose.  This building is a historic landmark
that was built in 1917 and was purchased by the SJRDA in 1985.

 

The five-story structure is under renovation and conversion
that is scheduled to complete in Winter of 2002. 
The renovation involves the construction of 36 lofts
on the upper levels and retail on the ground floor.

Some shops have already announced their grand
opening to the public such as Waldenbooks;
Starbucks coffee, Rosies and Posies Florist and
Pinnacle Fitness, all located in the heart of downtown.

 

The people of San Jose visit the newly opened shops
and enjoy the displays of art and Christmas decorations.
