Mayor Gonzales is pictured above cutting the ribbon at the
Smart Start Opening at the Rosemary Preschool Facility
on December 20, 2002.  The Smart Start San José facility expanded
the overall Campbell Family Learning Center by 48 spaces
and has 100 children enrolled. The Mayor is joined by
Johanna VanderMolen the Campbell Union Superintendent;
Winchester SNI Advisory Chair Cynthia Cobb
and Councilmember Linda LeZotte.

The Mayor spoke with children and parents for "Parent's
Reading Day".  The program at Rosemary is unique as
it offers adult education for parents as well.

The Mayor said the new center is especially noteworthy
because, "It accomplishes one of the top priorities
identified by residents living in the Winchester SNI area."

Students look at our photographer as they wear their
special reindeer hats!!  The Mayor also told the parents
and students, "By working together, we can ensure that
today's children become the leaders of tomorrow."
