Mayor Gonzales visited the City of San Jose's Department
of Transportation on Wednesday, April 16, 2003. 
The Mayor met with many city employees in-house and
out in the field to learn first-hand about the jobs
and services they provide to the people of San Jose.

 

The tour began with a visit to Padres Drive to watch
a tree crew removing three tulip trees.  The work is part
of the Tulip Tree Replacement Program, a voluntary program
funded by the City Council to assist homeowners with the
removal and replacement of pre-planted tulip trees.

The next stop was "Landscape and Street Sweeping".
A landscape crew was trimming ivy and performing a
general clean-up of the area on Bird Avenue. 
The Mayor observed this along with the
street sweeper operating along the Avenue.

met with our Mayor and discussed their various daily duties.
