Mayor Ron Gonzales attended the monthly San Jose Kiwanis Club
Luncheon at Lou's Village on Monday, August 11, 2003.

Governor, as well as Past President of the Kiwanis Club
and Steve Cox, Past President, Chair, Program Committee.

The Mayor spoke to guests, "In many ways the
Kiwanis Club and City Hall have the same goals.
We both focus on building better communities through
service.  We enlist the energy and talent of volunteers,
partners, and community resources to achieve our
goals - and our job is never done."

Guest dining...the Mayor spoke about the budget and told the
audience, "...What complicates all our planning and budgeting
in San Jose is the state's budget crisis which is affecting
communities throughout California...We will dedicate our
attention to identify what we can do as a community to create
and protect jobs for the benefit of our families and businesses."
